The Oxford based center for Evidence-Based Medicine
has a Web site to promote EBM and provides support and resources. The
site has details of members and publications, with the contents pages of
their journal Evidence-Based Medicine. Support materials include a
collection of "Critically Appraised Topics", articles on what is EBM and
links to other sites on EBM and Medical topics.
National Cancer
Institute
Provides access to Cancernet, which includes their
database of peer- reviewed statements on treatment, supportive care,
screening, and prevention; and directories of physicians and
organizations. Also accessible are information on clinical trials and
the CANCERLIT bibliographic database. This contains more than 1.3
million citations and abstracts from over 4,000 different sources
including biomedical journals, reports, and doctoral theses. Links are
given to other government home pages and to other organizations.

The School of Health and Related
Research (ScHARR) acts as a focus for health services research/health
technology assessment within the University of Sheffield. ScHARR has
expertise in a number areas, including health services management,
research and economics. Details are provided on a range of activities
including undergraduate and postgraduate education, in-service training
of NHS staff, consultancy, publications and research projects. The
resources available include an introduction to evidence based practice
on the Internet which provides details, with hypertext links, on other
